Mar is eol duit, tá curaclam na bunscoile ag athrú agus beidh sé fós á athrú sna blianta atá amach romhainn. Aithnítear i gcuraclam nua na bunscoile an príomhról atá ag tuismitheoirí agus caomhnóirí in oideachas a linbh agus cuirtear cur chuige comhpháirtíochta chun cinn a spreagfaidh níos mó cumarsáide idir scoileanna agus tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí.
Tá sé ríthábhachtach go bhfuil tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí ar an eolas faoi na hathruithe atá déanta ar an gcuraclam go dtí seo agus faoin méid a bheidh ag tarlú sna blianta amach romhainn. I dtaca leis sin d’fhorbair an Roinn, i gcomhar leis an gComhairle Náisiúnta Curaclaim agus Measúnachta, an Chomhairle Náisiúnta um Oideachas Speisialta agus an Fhorbairt Ghairmiúil do Mhúinteoirí, bileog atá leagtha amach chun na hathruithe sin a chur i láthair agus chun tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí a spreagadh dul i mbun comhairliúcháin amach anseo chun aiseolas a lorg ar ábhair agus réimsí dréacht-churaclaim a bhaineann leis an gcuraclam nua.

As you are aware, the primary curriculum is changing and will continue to change over the coming years. The new primary curriculum recognises the key role parents and guardians play in their child’s education and promotes a partnership approach which will encourage increased communication between schools and parents/guardians.
It is important that parents/guardians are aware of the changes to the curriculum that have taken place to date and what will be happening over the years to come. In this regard the Department, in collaboration with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA), the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) and the Professional Development for Teachers (PDST), has developed a leaflet which is designed to introduce these changes and encourage parent/guardians to engage in the future consultations seeking feedback on the draft curriculum areas and subjects of the new curriculum.
